Stifel Bank Mobile Apps Privacy Statement

Last updated on March 4, 2026

Stifel Bank (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to the protection of your privacy.

This Stifel Bank Mobile App Privacy Policy (this “Privacy Policy”), together with the Stifel Privacy Notice and our California Privacy Policy, describes how we may collect, use, share, protect, and otherwise process Personal Information (defined below) of the users (“you” or “Users”) of any Stifel Bank mobile application (“the Apps” or “our Apps”). The use of the term “including” means “including, without limitation” throughout this Privacy Policy.

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

In connection with your access and use of the Apps, we may collect information that identifies or can be used to identify, relates to, or could be linked to an individual (“Personal Information,” in your case, “Your Data”). This includes nonpublic personal information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and other personal information subject to U.S. state privacy laws. Examples include your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, account numbers, Social Security Number, government ID, financial information, transaction data, account login credentials, and other similar identifiers. We do not collect “sensitive personal information” (as defined under applicable state laws) beyond what is reasonably necessary for the Apps’ functions, unless you enable a specific feature.

We collect Your Data either directly from you when you provide it to us or automatically when you use the Apps. It may also be supplied to us by a third party in connection with your use of the Apps.

User Account Information. We collect this information to provide account-related functionalities to users. Please note that account creation and provisioning for our Apps must be completed prior to use. When you register to use the Apps, you may be asked to provide certain information that includes:

  • Your name;
  • Your e-mail address;
  • Your phone number; and
  • Other optional information designed to support your relationship with Stifel.

Automatic Collection & Mobile Technologies. When you visit or use the Apps, even if you have not opened a user account, we (or our service providers) may place on your mobile device technologies such as a cookie, pixel tag, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, session replay tools, or web beacon – that will allow our system to recognize you when you next visit the Apps. These technologies help to optimize, secure, and simplify your experience with us. They may collect and use information about your use of our Apps, including your IP address, device type/model, operating system, browser/app version, and information about your operating system, app usage patterns, crash logs, and time spent on any of our Apps (“Activity Data”).

We use Activity Data to personalize your experience, ensure that our Apps function properly, and for security purposes, as well as to improve our Apps. We also gather statistical information about usage of our Apps to improve their design and functionality, to assist us with resolving technical support questions, to track the performance of our own advertising (where permitted), and to collect aggregate data on mobile app usage.

Device Permissions. The Apps may request access to:

  • Camera → to scan deposits (checks, account statements, receipts, etc.);
  • Location → (precise or approximate) → if you enable features such as fraud alerts or branch locator;
  • Contacts → for person-to-person transfers (with your explicit consent);
  • Photos/Media → for document upload;
  • Notifications → for activity alerts.

Financial Documents. We may collect images or files of financial documents – including checks and account statements – that you provide us by scanning with the camera on your device, or uploading, or using another method. These images are deleted after deposit processing or as required by law.

Additional Mobile Services. We may also collect information from Contacts, Location, and Messages only to support specific, user-initiated features within the Apps and only with your explicit permission.

Transaction Data. We may collect information about your transactions with us in connection with our services and financial transactions.

Location verification. Our apps may collect your approximate location from the GPS, Wi-Fi, and/or cellular technology in your device. This lets us determine your location for transaction and security verification purposes.

Account log-in credentials. Our apps may collect account log-in credentials for purposes of security and fraud prevention, app functionality, and authentication such as verifying your identity when you sign in.

Financial information. We may collect financial information to deliver banking products and provide financial services.

Government Issued Identification. We may collect this information, which includes Social Security number, drivers license, passport, or other similar government-issued identification, to verify your identity, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, prevent fraud and financial crime, and administer and secure your account.

How Do We Use Your Data?

We use Your Data to:

  • Provide our Apps to you;
  • Authenticate you, prevent fraud, and ensure security;
  • Develop aggregated and anonymized or de-identified user data;
  • Communicate with you about our Apps, including updated features, feedback that you may provide about our Apps, or maintenance activities related to providing you with our Apps;

  • Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and audit obligations (including GLBA safeguards rule requirements);
  • For any purpose for which you provide explicit consent to use Your Data; and

With Whom Do We Share or Disclose Your Data?

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, the Stifel Privacy Notice, and our California Privacy Policy, we do not sell or share Your Data.

  • We may provide Your Data to those affiliates and/or third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Apps (under strict contracts requiring equivalent safeguards);
  • If you request to speak with a financial representative or consent to receive wealth management services of any kind from one of our affiliates, then we will share Your Data with that affiliate to facilitate its conversation with or provision of services to you;
  • We may share Your Data to comply with the laws, regulations, and rules by which we are governed (including GLBA and state breach notification laws);
  • We may share the e-mail address and other contact information that you provide to us with third parties with whom we contract. If we do so, our agreements with those third-party contractors will prohibit them from using Your Data for any other purpose beyond the contracted service or from sharing it with other third parties;
  • We may share information with any successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets;
  • We may disclose Your Data in any manner that you expressly direct; and
  • When the Personal Information is an image of a check you want to remotely deposit, we may forward it to a third-party clearing intermediary.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence (e.g., California), you may have rights to:

  • Confirm and access the personal information we collected. In certain limited cases, you may ask to receive access to Your Data in a portable, machine-readable form;
  • Delete personal information (subject to exceptions such as GLBA-required retention, fraud prevention, or legal obligations);
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising);
  • Opt out of profiling/automated decision-making with legal/significant effects (we do not engage in such profiling for credit or similar decisions via the Apps);
  • Limit use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (e.g., account credentials, biometric confirmation data, precise geolocation).

To exercise your rights, please visit stifel.com/privacy and follow the appropriate methods or by calling the toll-free number (833) 817-6594. We respond within required timelines and do not discriminate. We will verify your identity by phone or email before processing rights requests consistent with applicable law.

A consumer willing to designate an authorized agent to make a CCPA request on the consumer’s behalf must provide the agent written permission in a manner that complies with the applicable California law. The agent must arrange to submit to Stifel the proof of such permission by calling Stifel Client Services at (800) 679-5446 and asking for a CCPA request on the consumer’s behalf. In some cases, Stifel may require that the consumer verifies his/her identity directly with Stifel.

Security of Personal Information

We maintain a comprehensive written information security program, including administrative, technical, physical, and procedural measures designed to protect Your Data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is ever fully secure. While we use reasonable efforts to protect Your Data, we cannot guarantee its security.

You will have a unique set of credentials, selected by you, and encrypted in transit. As a final safeguard, you will be notified of material changes to your account security settings.

How Can You Review and Update Your Data?

You can view Your Data in the Apps. In order to update Your Data, you would need to access the corresponding websites for the Apps or contact your Relationship Banker or our Stifel Bank support team at (866) 303-8003. The usefulness of the Apps to you is dependent on your provision of accurate and up-to-date information about yourself.

How Long Do We Retain Your Data?

We will retain Your Data as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above, comply with legal and regulatory record-keeping requirements, resolve disputes, or protect legal rights. To determine the appropriate retention period for Your Data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data. We also weigh the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the data, the purposes for which we obtained the data and whether we can meet those purposes through other means, as well as applicable legal requirements.

Even if you close your user account, we may be required to retain all or part of Your Data to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) and “Do Not Track” (DNT) Signals

We do not respond to browser-based Do Not Track (DNT) signals at this time, as there is no uniform legal standard. However, where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as valid opt-out requests for any sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.

We may change our privacy practices from time to time. When we do, we will revise this Privacy Policy and update the “Last updated” date. The revised document will be posted at: https://bankwithstifel.com/disclosures/app-privacy/.
